RECOMMENDATION:


THAT the May 12, 2025 regular agenda be adopted as circulated.

Before the motion is made to approve the Consent Agenda, a Council member may request that an item be removed from the Consent Agenda and dealt with separately; additionally, a Council member may request that one or more items on the Regular Council Agenda be included on the Consent Agenda, and if no one objects, it will be so listed and considered.

THAT City Council approve the 2024 Consolidated Financial Statements.

First and second reading of a bylaw to rezone the properties located at 20525 & 20541 46A Avenue from RS2 Single Family Estate Residential Zone to RS1 Single Family Residential Zone to permit an 8-lot subdivision.


RECOMMENDATION - Motion was Moved and Seconded at the December 9, 2024 Regular Council meeting and is on the floor for debate:


THAT the bylaw cited as "Zoning Bylaw 1996, No. 2100 Amendment No. 214, 2024, No. 3295" be read a first and second time.

THAT Council approve the Crime Prevention Committee 2025 Annual Work Plan.

RECOMMENDATION:

  1. THAT Council select the Crime Prevention mural project submission from Carla Maskall, identified as “Image 2 – Green, Red, Blue, and Yellow” in the Committee Report from the Arts, Culture, Recreation and Heritage Committee dated February 10, 2025, to be installed on the north facing wall of the City Hall / Library building; and

     

  2. THAT Council allocate $3,500 from the Public Art budget for this Crime Prevention Mural project.

RECOMMENDATION:

  1. THAT City Council receive the May 1, 2025 Report to Council from the Chief Administrative Officer regarding Langley Animal Control and Sheltering Services Update for information.

     

  2. THAT City Council direct staff to explore different operating models and develop an implementation strategy to maintain animal control and sheltering services for the City of Langley in the event that the Township of Langley Council approves the bylaw and agreement amendments for animal control services as outlined in their September 23, 2024 motion regarding Potential Reform of Township of Langley Animal Control.
